I am here to support you and create a safe, accepting space dedicated to your individual needs, whether you are seeking to process past or current experiences, learn coping techniques, challenge negative patterns, establish healthy boundaries, or improve your relationships.
It is natural and normal to sometimes feel confused, scared, angry, exhausted, lonely, empty, disconnected or overwhelmed by our ever changing life circumstances. The focus of our therapeutic collaboration will be to develop a plan tailored to your unique needs and goals. My person-centered philosophy focuses not only on life's struggles but building upon your strengths. I seek to develop a therapeutic relationship that is genuine, energetic, and meaningful.
My expertise includes, but is not limited to anxiety, depression, anger, body image, ADHD, complex trauma, intimacy, sexuality, grief, relationship, attachment, identity and life changes. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming, culturally competent, trauma sensitive, body positive, and sex positive. My commitment is to help you to achieve balance, clarity and liberation.
I provide telehealth both in English and Mandarin Chinese.
Katherine Wheeler is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and TBRI® Practitioner dedicated to helping children, families, and caregivers heal, connect, and grow. She earned her Master of Social Work from the University of New England and brings a compassionate, neuroscience-informed approach to her work with clients.
Rooted in the belief that every individual is a treasure, Katherine approaches each person and family with curiosity, respect, and care. Her work centers on the idea that connection creates change — helping clients understand how trauma, stress, and relationship patterns shape their stories, and guiding them toward safety, trust, and regulation.
Her style is relational, grounded, and intentional, blending evidence-based interventions with genuine warmth and presence. At Connected Treasures, Katherine partners with families to interrupt cycles of intergenerational trauma, strengthen attachment, and create spaces where both children and adults can thrive.
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with experience treating adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and mood disorders. I work especially well with high-functioning professionals and women facing life transitions, burnout, or generational patterns. My background includes leadership and program development, and I bring both clinical expertise and real-world understanding into my work.
I have extensive experience with trauma in individuals from adolescence to late adulthood. I believe that trauma looks and feels different to every person. Two people experiencing the same exact event will have different outlooks and understandings of it. A traumatic event can take many forms. I want to help you pick up on where your thoughts, feelings and behaviors come from, even if you have never experienced “trauma”.
